CLASSROOM TEACHER

Nearly a decade in public education classrooms.

Taught middle school social studies (four years of World Cultures and Geography and three of Texas History) in Del Valle ISD. Redesigned DVISD’s sixth grade social studies curriculum and district-level assessments to emphasize students’ critical, creative thinking and real-world skills. Project-based learning and technology integrations were crucial components of this overhaul.

Also taught in San Pedro Sula (Honduras) and Milwaukee (Wisconsin).

CURRICULUM DEVELOPER

Wrote grade-level curriculum and district-wide assessments for Sixth Grade World Cultures and Geography in Del Valle ISD.

MENTOR TEACHER

Worked with St. Edward's University to host, mentor, and serve as cooperating teacher for college students seeking careers in education.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Led school-wide and district-level professional development on education best practices in social studies, literacy, classroom management, etc.
